[Updated]The joy of 8th Anniversary

8th Anniversary is here ! It is a very long time since MapleStory had appeared 8 years ago !
It can be counted as a very impressive achievement as MapleStory had won our hearts for 8 years...

What? Death the kid is very happy because 8 is a symmetrical number ! Then this anniversary deserves SOMETHING SPECIAL!
Upon login, you'll happen to watch a LOVELY AND CUTE TILL THE BLAST OPENING VIDEO.
I really wouldn't mind to get disconnected for times to watch that !

And I found that, they have changed the Login Screen Song ! The same rhythm in the opening!

Everyone was totally over the moon and every single place of the Maple World was crowded with people.
Yeah, my habit bugged me once more, I found several surprises as I checked Cash  shop !

Several Cash items had returned ! I love it, Also a new pet !

Updated : During a recent server check , the requirements of achievements were revised.
 So as usual, Cassandra gave me an 8th anniversary Diary, Thought that it would be black and blue words on yellow pages... but then...

Oh wait, when did the hell a book can become an iPad? The diary shows your progresses on all the 8th Anniversary quests.

Also when I "flipped" to the next page, my nose .... was bleeding..

To support your idol, (CYGNUS !! *Get slammed*) , you can do the following for her.
You can obtain 10 8th anniversary maple leaves and some EXP from each quest.
Updated : The quests are now remote completable now, which means upon completion, you can receive rewards by simply clicking the light bulb without going back to the nearest town and click Mirror of Dimension and enter the concert hall to meet your idol to receive rewards now.
 
1) [Vocal]  Your Idol needs someone to help her to ensure/ adjust whether she sings the right pitch or not.
Maple Admin will ask you to collect 8 types of bells which produce different pitches.
They can be collected from monsters that is near your level ranges.
(Probably because since patches ago, Nexon added a  new limitation, if you rape a monster which has too low level compare to you, example, Lv160 bishop kills a Snail. You'll get nothing other than ETC)
Red colored handbell = Do
Orange colored handbell = Re
Yellow colored handbell = Mi
Green colored handbell = Fa
Light Blue colored handbell = Sol
Blue colored handbell = La
Purple colored handbell = Si
Black colored handbell = Do


2) [Singing] You'll have to collect 8 types of Opera Singing Notes for your idol to sing properly.
Cassandra will call you to get them from killing monsters which have same level ranges as you.


3) [Dance]Gaga will ask you to record the dances for him to promote your idol. Hold the Camera for 30 minutes and you are done.
Camera and recorded camera will disappear IF YOU EVER DISCONNECT OR RELOG!


4)[Look] Your Idol wants her body to be as fit as  possible (Who wants to see a Godzilla on a stage)
Cassandra will pass her Calorie consumption Meter to you. Kill 200 monsters that is in your level range.


5)[Fame] Gaga will ask you to promote for your Idol by collecting 5 Love lolipop signboards and give it to her.

6)[Reputation] Cassandra finds out that Paparazzi has been tracking your idol (Or rather stalking for a long time) since she is famous! SNATCH THE DAM CAMERA FROM THE STRAY paparazzi cat and bring the film back to prevent any scandals happening to your idol.
The Stray cat deals 5xx damages on 1st jobbers, Careful! And you deals a fixed 88888 damage on them.
So I clicked the Mirror of Dimension and assumed there's an event map, yes there is...


Wow... Cygnus, Lirin and Pirate girl are having a concert with... Octopus... Manon and Papulatus?!

Back to the Anniversary contents, several new Maple sets and maple weapons are added
Sadly there's no lv88 weapon and it's Lv70 (WHY !! Death the kid is angry now and he said...)

YEAH IT'S EIGHT , EIGHT !!!
It seems like last year its a purple anniversary and this year is a green anniversary and themed "Together Forever"

Yeah don't be disappointed , they didn't add anything else other than bonus slot and Attack....
I guess it is meant to fit the theme "Together Forever", they will only be strong as the set effects were applied.
Which means you'll have to collect them
But well, they don't look bad and having a moderate stat.... It's a valuable collection i guess
The only Item that turns me up is the 8th anniversary medal , SUPER SYMMETRY !
There are two types of Anniversary sets, The Beryl set (Green) and the Letinum set (RED)


You can buy the Beryl sets from Mr.Inkwell by trading 8th anniversary coins for them. Trade 1 coin of Cassandra with 100 maple leaves.
For the 8th Anniversary weapons, you can either hunt them or get a special gift box from the monsters, opening the box  will either give you Beryl set items (woohoo), Weapons(WOOHOO) or coins (WooHoo) or Maple Leaves(Boohoo ;-; )
How the hell you should get that much of leaves you say? 3 Methods !
1) Hunt from Monsters (DUH!)
2) Will be given upon Leveling ( But , you will receive a fixed amount of Maple leaves per level up in a set of level range, it means that the number of leaves given will not be increased directly proportional to your level. Like Level 10~30 will get like 3 leaves ~ 5 leaves, At Lv27~30 , you will keep getting 5 leaves per level. Something like that)
3) Huge hint : From Bosses and Mini Bosses, they drop bunches of them. But I heard that due to the mad drop rate of leaves from Major bosses like Zakum or Papulatus, the drop rate of the other rare items is overwritten by the drop rate of leaves (<RUMOR)
4) From the Legendary Palabirds
5) From The Gift Boxes that are dropped by monsters.
6) Completing Anniversary quests (DOUBLE duh!)


 The Pink Scroll is a 20% unique scroll , it can be used on any suitable weapons, but once failed, bid farewell to your weapons.
To upgrade the Beryl sets into Letinum Set , you must use the magic Paladbird scrolls. There's 2 versions, 20% and 100%, you can trade 20% ones with coins or hunt 100% one from Palabirds.
From what I heard, there have been super stalkers camping to slay Palabirds a lot lately.
Maple Beryl + 20% PalaBird scroll = Maple Letinum
Fail ? No problem, nothing will happen at all.
Maple Beryl + Palabird 100% Scroll = Maple Letinum WITH HIDDEN POTENTIAL!
You ask who is Palabird? Palabird is the legendary bird of 8th Anniversary that drops the Palabird scrolls.

 You deal fixed damages on them, and it's a fortune damage (Because 8 is an auspicious number and its SYMMETRICAL!)

They only spawn at a fixed time period and a fixed location. From 1pm onwards, they will respawn every hour(Of course, there are so many people hunting them) until 12am.
Updated : During a Recent Server Check, The time interval between each spawns has been adjusted to 10minutes, which means the Palabirds will respawn every 10minutes!
Who knows you might be just as lucky as me :) ?

And then, you could raise a Mini Maple plant in a pot yourself ! It will bear a golden fruit which gives you SPECIAL Riding skill, 8th anniversary 20% pink scrolls or 8th anniversary coins.
It will only sleep for 1hour and 30-31 minutes after the recent changes.
Updated : During a recent Server Check, Mini Maple Plant will wake up in 30 minutes now.

In one of the milestone in the Diary, you'll have to get the Orange Mushroom Riding mount for at least once!
The Mini Erev boat mount you see in the picture is the Titio Mount. You will be inside a little Erev ship with 3 adorable little bird monsters in Erev galloping for you!
You can use the new cash item- Cloto 's Thread to extend the durations of it.

And there's a new medal!

To obtain this medal, you'll have to complete all quests in the diary , EVERY SINGLE OF THEM 8 times and a quest for once.
It adds:
STR+8
DEX+8
INT+8
LUK+8
HP+80
MP+80
Accuracy+80
Avoidability+80
PVP Damage + 2

During anniversary, new FUNCTIONAL Cash Items have been added.
Golden stamped Seal
You can increase the lines of your equipment with the seal. Success Rate 80%


Silver Stamped Seal
You can increase the lines of your equipment with the seal. Success Rate 50%

Maple 8th Anniversary Miracle Cube
Only can be used on Maple Beryl / Letinum set items.Able to reset the potential stats back to Unidentified stat. It grants higher chance to get better stats than the original Miracle Cube.

-Also, The Time period of PvP has been extended from 1pm~12am if I was not mistaken. Conclusion : EXTENDED to not only afternoons.
- The EXP of monsters in Monster Park (>Level 120 room) has been doubled and their HPs too. But according to my guildmates including Spadow, they said that it is still beneficial even the HP is doubled.

Last year they called 7th anniversary 美7 (Beautiful 7) , this year they call it 8樂( 8 Happiness) , I wonder what will 9 be called, I couldn't wait for 10th anniversary!!!!

Recently, Monster Park 

Also new rewards added to Monster Park. including Badge (PIKACHU I CHOOSE YOU! *Get slapped*)
and... a 7day Spiegelmann 's Air balloon Mount.
Several new maps were added in Monster Park.
Sadly the bonus EXP was adjusted(or rather removed) from Neo City, Elin Forest and Lionheart Castle..
Anyway don't be sad because Monster Park still gives Party Bonus and with delicious rewards (It's convenience too as you don't have to purposely move to El Nath just for Lionheart Castle Training..)

Also, new quest is available at Spiegelmann , he asked you to collect an envelope . Surprised that the envelope is actually an USE item ! And I opened one after I got an extra. I got a scroll... (ETC item) and I found something interesting.. As it showed, Spiegelmann is... staying near Zakum...? And trying to smack it?
Nexon is so good at making funny graphics with maple monsters...
